Hi and Happy New Year Everyone. It's Marieanne the Artsie Crafter.
Today, I want to share with you, my new journal, to start off the New Year. But, before I do that, I just want to take a few moments to talk about a subject that I think is important as it affects a lot of people at this time of year including myself.
It's about New Year Depression, or as some call it, the New Year Blues or the January Blues. While some people look forward to the New Year celebrations, going to New Year's Eve parties, making new year resolutions and all that, there are others who dread it and for a lot of different reasons.
I have experienced this condition myself, over the years and I felt it was important to talk about this subject, considering it's the new year.
I'm not going to go into any specifics about the subject, I'm sure most of us know what it's about. I just wanted to share how it affected me, and the couple of things that have helped me to deal with it.
We've all had a couple of really bad years recently, and according to statistics, there's a significant rise in the number of people coping with depression and anxiety, worldwide.
Now, here we are, starting another new year, and the world is still trying to get back to normal, whatever that may be, it can be hard to set goals or make plans for the new year, while people are finding it difficult to see any hope for this year being any better.
MY STORY
A couple of years ago, I made a conscious decision to finally deal with the issues I have with the New Year. I have feelings of depression about the year ending - which sounds silly I know. It takes me a long time to get used to a new year and then it's over.
MAKING PLANS
So, to ensure I didn't waste the beginning of another new year, I sat down and took the time to make some plans for the first month or two of the new year so I had something positive to look forward to and didn't feel lost or overwhelmed not knowing what a new year had in store for me.
This new year, I decided that the first craft project I wanted to do, was make a journal for myself. This year, I plan to do a lot more Self-care. I not good at taking care of myself, taking care of my family has always come first. I can imagine many of you are the same in that respect. But, this is the year, where it's going to be about me.
NEW YEAR JOURNAL
So, that's what I've decided to call My New Year junk journal - the "All About Me" journal because it will be my personal journal where I can focus on my own well-being, share my thoughts, make a record of all the things I've done during the year and all that stuff.
If you would like to hear the full version of this transcript then you can watch the video below. I show you my "All About Me: journal and how I put it together.

Have a lovely New Year, from
